GENERAL GRIND & MACHINE
Established in 1976, General Grind & Machine is a privately owned corporation that specializes in the manufacturing of machined parts. Located thirty minutes south of the Quad Cities in Aledo Illinois. GGM occupies over six buildings with a total of 230,000 square feet of floor space.
The shop consists of over 100 CNC Lathes and CNC Mills, five Cold Saws, five Cut-Offs, CNC OD and Center less Grind capabilites, complete welding shop, in-house induction heat-treating, and hob capabilities . Upcoming additions include an in-house paint line, material bending and the attachment of a local plating (Zinc and Chrome plating) company to our newest production building.
General Grind & Machine has kept its main focus on bar machining. GGM currently processes three to four million pounds of bar stock each month. Because of this focus GGM has been able to produce quality parts at a competitive price
General Grind & Machine utilizes a completely integrated MRP based computer application to insure that products are on the customers dock when needed. Along with MRP (Material Requirements Planning), GGM’s system also incorporates a fully integrated EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) application to speed process times and reduce costly errors.
